How To Put The Va-Va-Voom Into Your Valentine’s Day

9 Feb

“To be well dressed is a little like being in love.”

Oleg Cassini

Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to kick your normal attire up a notch. Whether you are planning a casual event or a more fancy affair, your outfit should be of the heart-stopping variety. It’s also secretly this fashionista’s favorite part of the holiday.  Therefore, I was super excited to style three outfits for you: Casual Cutie, Sizzling Sweetheart, and Va-va-voom Vixen. Below my outfit ideas you’ll find a slideshow of some other great Valentine’s clothing options. No matter if you plan to go out with the girls and celebrate the awesomeness of being single, or toasting to the warmth of your bond with your honey, there’s sure to be something for everyone to fall in love with.

The Casual Cutie

For an attitude that’s laid back yet flirty, go with bright colors anchored with black. Polka dots are all over for Spring. Paired with the super trendy colored skinny jeans or a swirly skirt, they are quite come hither. He won’t be able to take his eyes off you. And if you are swingin’ it single this year, polka dots and pink will leave you feeling sassy and ready to take on the world. Pink symbolizes the first blush of new love, femininity and confidence. Who can resist that combination?

Sizzling Sweetheart

The Sizzling Sweetheart knows she has it all going on, but wants to maintain a level of mystery. Demure on the outside, hot on the inside, coral and blush pink bring out the perfect flush. For legs that seem to go on forever, wear heels in a shade close to your skin color, or keep it ladylike with pale pink patent leather. If you aren’t into heels, sparkly flats will do the job as well. Pink pearls give any outfit just the right touch of womanly class. A clutch with as much sparkle as you have personality keeps things from getting too conservative.

The Va-Va-Voom Vixen

Not afraid of her considerable assets, the Va-Va-Voom Vixen always keeps things explosive. Look for bold shades of red and seductive silhouettes. Body conscious clothing that skims every curve and hugs every swerve is definitely going to turn heads. Go as blingy and sparkling as you want with the jewelry. The name of the game is glamour. If you feel like toning it down a touch, swap out the glittery wedges for black, nude or red heels or flats.

Whatever you wear, have fun this Valentine’s Day. I’ve used items from all ends of the price spectrum, but you can swap out similar things that meet your budget criteria, so don’t get hung up too much on the details. I want you to feel inspired and beautiful. After all, your honey and friends already like you, so you clearly are doing something right.
